Mauritius Occupation Permit
The Mauritius Occupation Permit is a combined work and residence permit that allows foreigners to live and work in Mauritius. There are three types of Occupation Permits: Professional, Self-Employed, and Investor. Each of the 3 types of Mauritius Occupation Permits can then be converted into a Mauritius Permanent Residence Permit which will give the permit holder 20 years of Mauritius residency. Mauritius Professional Permit
The Professional Permit is a Mauritius Occupation Permit that allows skilled professionals to live and work in Mauritius. To qualify for the permit, you must have a job offer from a company in Mauritius with a monthly salary of at least MUR 30,000. The permit is valid for the duration of your employment contract or for 10 years, whichever is shorter. Once you have held a professional permit for at least 3 years and earned a monthly salary of at least MUR 150,000 for 3 consecutive years, you may be eligible to apply for permanent residency in Mauritius.
Mauritius Self-Employed Permit
The Self-Employed Permit is a great way for foreign entrepreneurs to start their own businesses in Mauritius and eventually apply for permanent residency. To qualify for the permit, you must operate as a one-person company and make an initial investment of USD 35,000. The permit is valid for a maximum period of 10 years and is renewable thereafter. Mauritius Investor Permit
An Investor Permit allows foreigners to invest in a Mauritian business and obtain residency. There are four options for the Investor Permit:
