Moving to Mauritius from the Netherlands
Sun, sea and a lighter tax footprint — an English- and French-speaking island where Dutch families, retirees and remote workers settle with ease.
A growing number of Dutch families, retirees and remote workers are choosing Mauritius for the year-round sun, the outdoor lifestyle and a tax regime with no capital-gains or inheritance tax and a 15% headline rate. English is widely spoken and business is conducted in English and French, so the practical side of settling in is refreshingly straightforward.
We help clients from the Netherlands choose the right residence route, set up any business or structure, and arrange a home, schooling, banking and healthcare. We'd always recommend confirming your Dutch tax position — including box 3 and any exit considerations — with a specialist alongside our Mauritian advice.

Frequently asked
Which route suits a Dutch remote worker?
If your income comes from a business or employer outside Mauritius, the Premium Visa lets you live on the island for up to a year at a time. If you plan to base a business here, an Occupation Permit is usually the better route. Our checker and a short call will confirm it.
What about my Dutch tax?
We advise on the Mauritian side and strongly recommend confirming your Dutch tax-residency, box 3 and any exit obligations with a Netherlands specialist. We're happy to work alongside your existing adviser.
